Burnout

Burnout is a state of extreme tiredness and exhaustion, both mentally and physically, that happens when you’ve been under a lot of stress for a long time. It can occur from work-related stress or other aspects of life, like taking care of others. When you’re burned out, you may feel emotionally drained, detached from your work or responsibilities, and have a decreased sense of achievement.

To help with burnout, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is often recommended. It’s a type of therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thoughts and behaviours associated with work and burnout. CBT can help you develop better coping strategies and will help you manage stress more effectively.

During CBT, we work together to recognize and challenge negative thoughts, beliefs and unhelpful behavioural patterns, using practical self-management methods including problem solving, goal setting, stress-management, planning and more…

These techniques help to nurture more positive and adaptive thinking patterns, reducing emotional distress and allowing for re-engaging with, and enjoying your life again!
